Victron inverter MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50-GX
Victron Inverter MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50 GX
MultiPlus GX - a combination of inverter and charger with integrated GX unit
Manufacturer's Description:
The MultiPlus-II combines the functions of the MultiPlus and the MultiGrid.
It has all the functions of the MultiPlus and additionally an option for an external current transformer to implement the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions, and to optimize self-consumption with external current detection (max. 32 A).
It also offers all the functions of the MultiGrid with the built-in anti-islanding function and a growing list of countries in which it is approved.
A MultiPlus, plus ESS (Energy Storage System) functionality
The MultiPlus-II is a multifunctional inverter/charger with all the functions of the MultiPlus and an additional feature, namely that of an external current sensor. This extends the PowerControl and PowerAssist functions to 50 A and 100 A respectively. The MultiPlus-II is ideal for professional marine, yachts, vehicles, and land-based off-grid applications. The device also has a built-in anti-islanding function and is being approved in more and more countries for ESS applications. Various system configurations are possible. For more information, see the ESS Design & Configuration manual.
PowerControl and PowerAssist – Boosting generator or mains power
A maximum generator or mains current can be set. The MultiPlus-II then takes other connected AC loads into account and uses only the current that is 'left over' to charge the battery, preventing the generator or mains connection from being overloaded (PowerControl function). The PowerAssist function takes the PowerControl principle to a new dimension by compensating for weak generator, shore, or mains power immediately by drawing energy from the battery. When the load is reduced, i.e., consumers are switched off, the surplus power is used to recharge the battery.
Solar power: AC power even during a grid failure
The MultiPlus-II can be used in both off-grid and grid-tied PV systems as well as other alternative energy systems. It can be used with both solar charge controllers and grid-tied inverters.
Two AC outputs
The main output ensures uninterrupted operation. In the event of a grid failure or disconnection of shore/generator power, the MultiPlus-II takes over the supply of the connected loads. The switch is so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that uninterrupted operation of computers and other electronic devices is ensured.
The second output supplies power only when AC power is available at the MultiPlus-II input. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.
Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel and three-phase operation
Up to six Multis can be connected in parallel to achieve higher power output. For example, six 48/5000/70 units provide 25 kW/30 kVA output power with 420 A charging capacity. In addition to parallel connection, three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase output. And that's not all: by connecting up to six sets of three units each in parallel, 75 kW/90 kVA inverter power or 1200 A charging current can be achieved.
System configuration, monitoring, and control on-site
Settings can be changed in a matter of minutes with the VEConfigure software (a computer or laptop and an MK3-USB interface are required). Various monitoring and control options are available: Color Control GX, Venus GX, Octo GX, CANvu GX, Laptop, Computer, Bluetooth (with the optional VE.Bus Smart Dongle), Battery Monitor, Digital Multi Control Panel.
Remote configuration and monitoring
Install a Color Control GX or other GX products to connect to the internet. Operational data can be stored and viewed for free on our VRM (Victron Remote Management) website. Systems connected to the internet can be accessed remotely, and settings can be changed.
