Victron BMV-700, With 500A Shunt, 9–90 V DC, Battery Monitor, State of Charge Display
Scope of delivery:
Battery Monitor BMV-700
Shunt 500A
10 m UTP connection cable (between shunt and monitor)
2 x 2 m battery connection cables with fuse
The housings shown in the photos are not included but can be ordered separately.
Manufacturer description:
Battery “fuel gauge”, remaining runtime indicator, and much more
The remaining battery capacity depends on the ampere-hours consumed, discharge current, temperature, and age of the battery. Complex software algorithms are required to take all these variables into account.
In addition to the basic display options such as voltage, current, and ampere-hours consumed, the BMV-700 series also displays the state of charge, remaining runtime, and power consumption in watts.
The BMV-702 has an additional input that can be programmed to measure voltage (of a second battery), temperature, or midpoint voltage (see below).
Bluetooth Smart
With the Bluetooth Smart Dongle, battery monitoring is possible via an Apple or Android smartphone, tablet, MacBook, or other devices.
Easy installation
All electrical connections are made with the PCB connector on the current shunt.
The shunt is connected to the monitor via a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Included in delivery:
RJ12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m); no additional components are required.
Also included are a separate front bezel for a square or round display, a securing ring for rear mounting,
and screws for front mounting.
Easy programming
A quick installation menu and a detailed setup menu with scrolling assist the user in configuring various settings.
Please refer to the manual for more details.
Standard features
- Battery voltage, current, power, consumed ampere-hours, and state of charge
- Remaining runtime at current discharge rate
- Programmable visual and audible alarm
- Programmable relay to disconnect non-essential loads or start a generator when needed.
- 500-amp quick-connect shunt and connection set included.
- Shunt capacity selectable up to 10,000 amps.
- VE.Direct communication port
- Stores a wide range of historical data for evaluating usage patterns and battery condition.
- Wide input voltage range: 9.5 – 95 V
- High current measurement resolution: 10 mA (0.01 A)
- Low power consumption: 2.9 Ah per month (4 mA) at 12 V and 2.2 Ah per month (3 mA) at 24 V
Additional battery monitor options
- VE.Net Battery Monitor (VBC)
- High Voltage VE.Net Battery Monitor: 70 to 350 VDC
- Lynx Shunt VE.Net
- Lynx Shunt VE.Can
More about midpoint voltage
A damaged cell or battery can destroy an entire large and expensive battery bank.
When batteries are connected in series, measuring the midpoint voltage allows an early warning to be generated.
Please also refer to the BMV manual, section 5.2, for more information.
We recommend our Battery Balancer (BMS012201000) to maximize the lifetime of batteries connected in series.
See the original data sheet in the product photos.
