When used with alkaline batteries, there is practically no wear on the active core, as palladium is not attacked by alkaline electrolyte. Therefore, they are practically NEW!

What is recombination in the practical operation of a battery?
A recombination plug mounted on a gassing battery converts the explosive gas produced during the charging process of a battery through electrolysis back into water.The mode of operation
The explosive gas produced is absorbed by a plug containing a precious metal catalyst. The catalyst recombines the resulting mixture of hydrogen and oxygen into water vapor. This vapor condenses on the walls of the plug into water, which can then flow back into the battery.History
The recombination of explosive gas using recombination plugs has been available on the market for a long time. However, for technical reasons, simple plugs for solar storage batteries have no longer been offered by some manufacturers for several years.Our development
At B-Inotec, we conduct intensive research and development work in both the field of alkaline batteries and lead-acid batteries. Our goal is always to set new milestones in battery development. For this reason, we have also intensively addressed the topic described above.Through many years of practical test series, we have found a safe alternative to conventional recombination plugs, which function flawlessly for both lead-acid and alkaline batteries beyond the service life of the batteries themselves.
Since alkaline batteries such as NiCd, NiFe, or NiCdFe produce many times more explosive gas during operation compared to lead-acid batteries, consultation is absolutely necessary before using our BT recombination plugs to ensure flawless and safe operation over decades.
Our BT recombination plug features a bayonet lock, making it compatible with the following battery manufacturers:
- Hoppecke lead-acid
- Saft NiCd.
