B-Inotec Recombi - Size 3 for batteries from 650Ah to 1500Ah - used
NEW
B-INOTEC Recombination-Plugs for alkaline- and Lead-Batteries
These have been used for 3 years on small 200Ah alkaline industrial battery cells. As no alkali-sensitive materials are used in the parts, they are practically immune to operational ageing and are therefore ‘as good as new’! In addition, each plug has been subjected to extensive testing, confirming that it functions perfectly.
What is recombination in practical battery operation?
A recombination plug attached to a gassing battery converts the oxyhydrogen gas formed during the charging process of a battery through electrolysis back into water.
How it works
The oxyhydrogen gas produced is absorbed by a plug containing a precious metal catalyst. The catalyst recombines the resulting mixture of hydrogen and oxygen to form water vapour. This vapour condenses on the walls of the plug to form water, which can then flow back into the battery.
History
The recombination of oxyhydrogen gas using recombination plugs has been on the market for a long time. However, for technical reasons, some manufacturers have stopped offering simple plugs for solar storage batteries in recent years.
Our development
At B-Inotec, we conduct intensive research and development work in both the field of alkaline batteries and lead batteries. Our goal is to continually set new milestones in battery development. For this reason, we have also dealt intensively with the topic described above.
Through years of practical testing, we have found a safe alternative to conventional recombination plugs that works perfectly for both lead-acid and alkaline batteries throughout their lifetime.
Our BT recombination plug has a bayonet lock that fits the following battery manufacturers:
Hoppecke lead
Saft NiCd.
Other battery manufacturers are possible. Please contact us for more information.
Efficiency ƞ
In our experience, the efficiency of our BT recombination plugs depends on the battery type and the selected operating setting. Some of the efficiencies we have observed are listed below:
Battery Operation Efficiency ƞ
Lead-solar Solar operation 99%
NiCd battery Standby 99%
NiCd pocket plate Solar operation 98 – 99%
NiFe pocket plate Solar operation 96 – 99%
As already described under ‘Our development’, it is essential to seek advice before using recombination plugs with alkaline batteries!
Advantages of our recombination plugs
Virtually maintenance-free for lead-acid batteries
Savings of up to 99% on distilled water
Significant reduction in ventilation cycles
Data
Size 1
For lead-acid battery cells from 50Ah to 250Ah (C10)
Max. operating voltage of 2.4 V/cell.
Size 2
For lead-acid battery cells from 250 Ah to 650 Ah (C10)
Max. operating voltage of 2.4 V/cell.
Size 3
For lead-acid battery cells from 650 Ah to 1500 Ah (C10)
Max. operating voltage of 2.4 V/cell.
Additional information on dimensions
The nubs on both sides are slightly raised. At the narrowest point between the nub and the rubber seal, the height is 4 mm, rising to 5 mm.
Please request advice on determining the correct size for alkaline batteries.
